Testimonials

When I signed up for this teacher training my idea was that it would give me more tools and skills to work with my clients in my practice. I really underestimated what this course would give to me. It has been this delightful journey of self awareness and a connection to my body that I have always longed for. The way the training is designed, it allows you the time to process and integrate all the knowledge and wisdom you are receiving on many levels. It then becomes a way of life. I have done yoga on and off for many years , but I was unable to do my own personal practice on a daily basis. Throughout this course I have grown and healed so much inside myself that now this daily practice has just emerged, almost effortlessly. Not only do I have more tools to share, but I now have this deep experiential wisdom to share as well. What a gift. Suzanne is a beautiful teacher. She has this lovely presence about her that has held us so safely that we could all journey into ourselves in a sacred way. The course is rich with the deeper aspects of yoga as well as the very practical application of the postures. Suzanne weaves it all together like a beautiful tapestry that is transformative. I feel very blessed and grateful to be on this journey with Suzanne and all my amazing colleagues. Namaste. Sherry Rounds, Masham, Quebec.

Suzanne provided a safe, tranquil and grounded space for learning, reflection, self-awareness and discovery. Throughout the YYTT course, Suzanne's warm smile and positive attitude was constant and always encouraging.  The direction and content of the course focused on building a solid foundation of knowledge for present and future application. Through lectures, discussion, exercises, yoga/meditation practice and homework I was able to assess and understand the value and usefulness of the newly acquired knowledge and skills. The YYTT provided me with the tools to enrich my practice, unlock my potential and teach authentically.  Thank you Suzanne!

I had been looking for a teacher training program for some time and was seeking something quite specific, but didn't know what it was until I found Suzanne! Yanumoja is a very unique and powerful style of yoga that appealed to my desire to take my yoga practice to a deeper, more spiritual and shamanic route. Suzanne's experience in holding the space and guiding us through this journey, through the seasons and through our personal growth alongside the teaching skills required to teach a yoga class, provided a safe and uplifting cocoon for us to emerge into our own unique essence as yoga teachers. Sharing this experience with a group of committed spiritual seekers in a beautiful place where we could observe seasonal changes that accompanied our transformation was a very potent mix of energies. This teacher training could not have come at a better time and I truly believe it was divine intervention that brought me to Suzanne for this teacher training at this very moment in my life. This transition was so deep and complete that I know it will have deeply rooted effects that will continue to unfold for the rest of my life as I journey along the yogic path. I highly recommend this teacher training to anyone who is a serious seeker, a devoted yoga teacher, or a yogini interested in deepening their practice. Om Namah Shivaya. While I began my journey with Yanumoja Yoga with the intent to deepen my commitment to my personal practice, I did not anticipate all that would unfold before me. It's true, my commitment to honouring my inner voice and wisdom has surely deepened. And too, my worldview has opened up before my eyes, with my strengthened heart guiding me forward. However experiencing a training such as this one, which has proven to be incredibly inspiring and deeply fulfilling, has prepared the groundwork for the larger version of myself to finally emerge. The Yanumoja Yoga training has far exceeded whatever expectations I dropped on the mat during our orientation. This course is mind-blowing, which is exactly what one could ever hope for in terms of their personal evolution! Initially I was drawn to the local offering. How rare to find a program like this in the Hills! As a result of witnessing community members on their journey and being witnessed by them too, my sense of growth and empowerment within a community that feels supportive has deepened exponentially. I've loved that the course is structured in such a way that the design and lay out span 10 months. Being a mother of a toddler, I've had to reevaluate how I structure my time to make way for these studies. Any of the other intensive time frames I've previously explored would not have allowed for the honest integration of this material into my own life. It's such a gift to be able to offer this in real time to my family. My appetites for stimulating information and self reflection have been simultaneously quenched. It's been a blessing to study with Suzanne. Her spirit and continued enthusiasm towards trusting one's own process has affirmed and supported my personal transitions throughout my training. Suzanne walks her talk - what she offers is more than just theoretical understandings, and this development on her own journey urges that larger version of one's self to radiate in the present moment alongside her. In moving forward I feel like I've had a solid, grounded training experience that has helped to shape my future direction. I came in wanting that 'something more', and I feel as though this course has has prepared me on all levels for the work that I've so longed to do.  Destini Broom, Gatineau Hills, Quebec.

I have practiced yoga on and off for years and often flirted with the idea of teachers training but never found a learning methedology that resonated until I met Suzanne and was introduced to her 10 month program. I made a decision, signed up and can honestly say, it has been a wonderful and impacting experience. The hands on learning approach and beautiful amount of time allocated to integrate what we learn is key.  Of course the wonderful people in my class, and our professional, personable and very knowledgeable facilitator, Suzanne, make each learning weekend a pleasure.   I have enjoyed every minute..even those that challenged me.   Participating in this program has substantially deepened my appreciation for the history, philosophies and the many  benefits (emotional, mental and physical) of a regular yoga practice. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enrich their current and future practice, whether at the end, you choose to teach or not. Shelly O.  - Wakefield Quebec.

One of my favourite aspects of the course is the peaceful learning environment that we have the chance to learn in. Everything about it makes the integration of the material easier. I find the content of the course extremely interesting. It is such life enriching. I love that everything we learn we can use in our everyday life and it helps me make my life better in all its aspects. I’m really looking forward to being a teacher. I really appreciate the chance to receive and give feedback after the classes we teach. It’s great to get some hands-on experience in the field and be trained by such a knowledgeable teacher. I really appreciate the time we get between each week-end training. I find it is the perfect amount of time to complete the homework and really integrate the material.
I love Yanumoja Yoga and the fact that it explores all different aspects of the yoga lifestyle. It really gives me the chance to go deeper into myself and really understand what it means and how to live my life through my heart. My weekly attendance in Yanumoja Yoga classes gives me the chance to integrate everything I’ve learned in my life and it helps me to be a better person everyday. I love the chance to connect with the group I am part of in the teacher training. All the student-teachers are amazing people and I’m constantly learning from them and deepening my relationship with them. It is amazing to have such great people to share all the experiences that come with working with this course material. They are all so wise in their own way and I feel truly blessed to be part of them! Thank you Suzanne for facilitating this amazing course! It has truly changed my life forever! Thank you for being such an amazing teacher!

Suzanne Montford shines as a teacher of yoga teachers, with her wide knowledge and experience, strong commitment and supportive approach. Looking for a way of helping others with serious health issues, I took this course at her suggestion, and began with no preconceived ideas. In my experience, YYTT offers much more than simply how to teach yoga basics, but provides as a foundation for the emerging teacher, an avenue for significant personal growth and self-integration based on the Eight Limbs of Yoga and one’s own personal strengths and life experiences, including different spiritual paths. Suzanne creates a very secure environment where all this can take place, while at the same time building confidence, enhancing group relations, and teaching a range of relevant material, including specific techniques to offer others for supporting their own physical and spiritual healing. Suzanne is gentle, consistent, respectful of all participants, and rises to every occasion for guiding her students to discover and build on their own strengths and find their own unique approach as yoga teachers. Yanumoja Yoga has been a voyage far greater in responsibility than I had originally either intended or expected. These studies I undertook after studying and following many other traditions and paths over the past 30 years. Under all this inescapable essence of Oneness, I embarked into this new tradition- which skillfully blends many other paths into a comprehensive system of discovery--- both Spiritual and Material, inner and outer. One of the greatest lessons I emerged with was that of silence and listening. My own work included allowing, absorbing and refreshing into the incredible vastness of Knowledge that wove its way into my awareness through not only this skilled teacher, Suzanne Montford, but the other participant-students who brought with them limitless experiences they were willing to share. It has been a humbling, enriching experience and I bow to the integrity of my fellow participants and Suzanne, who truly dedicates herself unstintingly to the betterment of all she encounters. Her sharing, not only of her strengths and wisdom, but allowing us into her struggles evoked similar truths from each of us as we lived the experiences in class. The environment was safe, friendly— yet challenging. The assignments were useful in keeping us on track with an open ended destination in view and the comments were grounding and clear. When I chose Yanumoja Yoga Teacher Training I used my experience of taking classes with Suzanne and my intuition to guide me. What excites me in going forward is that I feel I can apply what I learned to help people move with more awareness and embody the inner intent of the yoga postures by incorporating Feldenkrais® teachings into classes.
